About the Artist
Joe Shade is an independent singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist bringing a modern wall-of-sound production to alternative rock, power pop, art pop, and glam rock. Drawing heavy inspiration from David Bowie, Roxy Music, The Velvet Underground, Big Star, and Britpop legends like The Kinks and The Move, Shade's music is built on multi-layered electric guitar arrangements, driving synths, and lush vocal harmonies.
Coming out of the gritty St. Louis glam rock scene and having graced the legendary stage at CBGB in NYC, Joe Shade is now based in the Washington, D.C. area. Currently holding a residency at Mackenzie's Tunes & Tonics in Fairfax, VA, Shade is actively expanding to premier D.C. area venues including The Pocket, Quarry House, Comet Ping Pong, Pie Shop, and Rhizome.
Releasing music independently under Rock or Die Records, Shade delivers high-energy live performances backed by decades of authentic rock history.
